Mark Joseph Weber

Mark Joseph Weber grew up in cold and snowy Buffalo, NY, which you know about thanks to the Buffalo Bills, chicken wings and the rock band Goo Goo Dolls, among other musical acts. 

Mark's dad, Joe, inspired him to get into music, as Joe was a vibraphone player, drummer and wrote and recorded one song in his lifetime, “Happy Is The Boy.” That song in particular inspired Mark to write songs. 

Mark and his dad entertained thousands of people with songs from the 1920s-50s during Mark's "Buffalo Crooner" phase as a busy singer and entertainer. At one point Mark was doing nearly 50 concerts a year singing songs from The Great American Songbook, including lots of tunes from Nat “King” Cole, one of Mark's favorites due to his unique vocal tone. 

Besides being a performer, Mark loved writing about music artists as a professional music journalist, going to concerts and interviewing greats like Darlene Love, Charlie Daniels, Mary J. Blige, Dionne Warwick, Joan Osborne and many more. He wrote countless published articles for print and online media over the years, including some cover stories, and even started his own Christian/Gospel ezine, email list and subsequent websites to promote music and music makers that needed some promotional push. Mark eventually graduated with a Master's degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA, where was was one of the few white members of the school's black Gospel choir.

While living in New York City for a time, Mark noticed an article about a painted piano in a NYC park for all to play and enjoy. He took that idea and created “Pianos in Public Buffalo,” whereas he procured, painted and placed more than a dozen colorful pianos around the Buffalo metro area for a couple summers in a row. The band Journey played one of them and their video showed the project to the world! 

As a lifelong writer and keen student of society and culture, Mark listens for music wherever he goes and loves to "name that tune." And now he's taking the songs he has written over the years and putting them online here (and other places) so more people can feel what he feels, expressed through songs that will make an impact on listeners worldwide. 

"My goal is not fame or fortune. I'm already fortunate and blessed. My goal is simply to have these songs go places where people need to hear some encouragment; Ultimately, I want them to feel better after hearing my tunes."
